Luna Quartet
SILVER MEDALISTS

Anna Humphrey, violin (Rogers, MN)
Emma Richman, violin (MPLS, MN)
Alexandra Sophocleus, viola (MPLS, MN)
Nora Doyle, cello (MPLS, MN)

The Luna String Quartet is a group of close friends who love music and making music together. They settled on the name The Luna String Quartet because their first official rehearsal together was on August 31, 2012, a night with a blue moon. There won’t be another blue moon until 2015. Luna is coached by Nancy Oliveros at the Artaria Chamber Music School. This year the quartet was featured on classical Minnesota Public Radio and will perform at the Fitzgerald Theater as part of the Minnesota Varsity Competition. They also received first prize in the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Youth Chamber Music Competition. They have participated in master classes with Erin Keefe and members of the Elias String Quartet. The Luna String Quartet is very excited to be part of the SPSQC.
